Giles studied Economics and Accounting at Bristol University before joining the London office of Ernst & Whinney (Ernst & young) with whom he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988. He then spent time in their personal tax and entrepreneurial services department until he left in 1999 to join a small practice in the west end, where he continued to specialise in advising high net worth individuals, including a number of entrepreneurs and their companies, on the range of taxation issues they faced and on business issues such as motivating and retaining staff and raising funds from third-party investors.

In 2014 Giles set up his own practice, GLB Associates. About 25% of our current clients are non-UK domiciled or have the need to file returns in more than one jurisdiction.
